Environmentally Friendly Print: Carbon Balancing Through the World Land Trust

The World Land Trust is an international conservation charity, based in Halesworth, Suffolk. Since its foundation in 1989 as the World Wide Land Conservation Trust, the World Land Trust has been working to preserve the world's most biologically important and threatened lands, and has helped purchase and protect over 350,000 acres of habitats rich in wildlife, in Belize, Costa Rica, the Philippines, South America and the UK.

TVS Media decided to balance our own outputs through the WLT and have made a 36 month commitment of support to this extremely worthwhile charity. Unlike many other of the carbon "offsetting" organisations, the WLT are not for profit and are active campaigners for conservation. In addition to our carbon balancing, TVS Media are also committed to securing further land through the WLT to preserve habitats for future generations, to this end, we are securing an acre of rainforest through the WLT for every £10000 of print sales we make.

The aim is that this contribution will also balance the carbon footprint of our paper suppliers making our print service truly carbon neutral from the point of paper manufacture, through to final delivery with the client. Our partnership with the WLT forms part of a wider CSR strategy and we would actively encourage all of our customers and suppliers to approach the WLT for a (free) Carbon Audit with a view to negating their own outputs.
