It's more than a logo on a bag, a brochure on a desk or an article in the newspaper. Branding is about persuasion, about making customers and potential customers understand who and what you are by bringing together an array of the tangible and intangible to truly present the personality of a company, a product, a service or an event. An effective brand is one which on first look tells you much of the personality and culture of its owner, an effective brand owner is one which carries this public face through its wider business and communications activities. This kind of joined up approach to design and business is nothing new, but it is often overlooked.
Developing your brand or corporate identity needn't be a one stage process, little steps, such as a logo revision, an ad campaign, a rewrite of web site copy, a series of mailers can all help to develop your reputation and public image with customers and potential customers alike. TVS have been at the cutting edge of branding for almost a decade, designing logos, building and advising on brands across a massive range of markets and dealing with a huge variety of budgets. Talk to us today for an assesment of your positioning and a strategy to bring your brand to life.
Our Services include;
Your logo is your mark, the opening page of your corporate identity. The logo introduces the name and personality of the company to prospective customers. There is much to consider when designing a logo or word mark. Colour usage, styling, type, strap lines, media usage and geographic territory must all be considered before concepts are drafted. For example, there is no point designing a logo with a colour palette that makes printing prohibitively expensive where there is no will or budget to support it. Similarly, for an online business with little print requirement, there is no need to shy away from traditional "problem colours" from a printing perspective, as any short run print can be managed digitally.
We must consider the wider personality of the organisation as part of the process and more importantly, the personality of their customer base, an overly traditional or overtly contemporary treatment might be perfect, or then again, it may present the company in a negative light.
The design process should not be taken lightly, nor should it be rushed. Due consideration must be given to the company position and target markets, specially in the case of a rebranding exercise. We are specialists in transitional design and understand the issues from both a traditional and new media perspective. We don't skimp on our research and we don't design to a house style. We aim to produce your logo, not simply another of ours.
A cohesive approach to visual language pays dividends as it presents a consistent and professional approach to communication and as such builds trust and recognition of the wider brand. The value of integrated visual communication cannot be overstated, especially in a multi office environment where several departments are producing sales and marketing literature or even internal communications. Visual language development enhances the logo and supports the personality of the company in digital and print formats. Due consideration is given to colour, typographic style, photographic and illustrative style and an overall design style. Combined with a logo and a good set of rules this forms the building blocks of a visually engaging, credible brand.
Corporate ID can loosely be described as the bringing together of the logo, visual language and copy style. Often presented as "brand guidelines", the corporate ID amounts to the presentation of the visual and textual aspects of the brand and the media in which they are presented, be it in print, on screen, on corporate wear, advertising, in store or on livery for vehicles. A good ID and its associated rules should be rigid enough to enforce brand guidelines and loose enough not to stifle creativity. Some room should be left for interpretation, as this serves a dual purpose of allowing the identity to progress over time and account for projects not covered in the original documentation. TVS Media can produce, manage and maintain identity over time, documenting our own work, or the work of other agencies, protecting the identity from the outset and over time.
